About Me

My name is Slava Stepanov — I am a photographer, also known as Gelio. Born and raised in Novosibirsk, I am now based in Moscow. For over 15 years, I have been photographing urban landscapes, nature, and industry throughout Russia and worldwide.

For me, a camera was initially a tool that allowed me to reach hard-to-access places, get into unique facilities, and see how industry works. Thanks to my shoots, I have climbed the flagpole of the Ostankino TV Tower, captured rocket launches at cosmodromes, descended into deep mines, flown over cities in helicopters, worked on icebreakers in the Arctic, and even visited the North Pole several times.

Gelio Media started in 2011 with a book-publishing project dedicated to Russian cities. Today, my team and I specialize in industrial photography, creating corporate books and videos for major companies — driven by the same passion for complex tasks and unconventional angles.

Gelio Photo is a photo bank launched from the unique material we’ve accumulated over the years. Here, you can browse and license photos of Russian cities and landscapes.

I run channels on Telegram, Dzen, Vk and even MAX
